Season Review: 2016/17 Premier League

Chelsea FC

It was a fantastic season for Chelsea F.C. as they won the Premier League title even though this season was challenging. As a fan of this club, I’m more than excited as they managed to win their second league title in the past three season. This accomplishment wouldn’t have be possible with the help of Antonio Conte with his 3-4-3 formation with the squad. On top of that, this season was full with action, drama and also the intensity of the league was risen up because of some clubs bringing in world class manger In this article, I would like to speak out on my opinion about Premier League’s 2016/17 season in general.

By comparing between last season and this season, I have to say that this season was much better cause there was an intense competition between Chelsea F.C. and Tottenham Hotspur are chasing over the Premier League title whereas the intensity pressure between Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Everton to enable them on finishing in the top 4. In this season alone, Chelsea also had managed to make a record as they become the first team in Premier League history that managed to win 30 matches in a 38 match style league as they managed to collect 93 points in total.

The shocking moment in the entire season was when Claudio Ranieri got sacked by Leicester City during mid-season. The news literally shocked in the entire football world because he brought Leicester City to an unexpected title won last season. It’s obvious that Leicester City wasn’t doing good this season as they eventually managed to escape to avoid regulation. Personally, a shocking moment throughout this season was Jose Mourinho managed to did better than I expected as he managed to won three title which include Europa League, EFL Cup and FA Community Shield and it was a good accomplishment after he had a bad run last season with Chelsea.

Even thought these are some of the many shocking moment throughout this season, I have to there are some positive sides that happen this season. One of it is that Jurgen Kloop managed to bring Liverpool F.C. back into Champions League. Besides that, I have to praised Mauricio Pochettino because he had improve Tottenham Hotspur significantly since he being the club manager. Antonio Conte is another manager that get a positive feedback as he did reach his expectation properly with Chelsea F.C. by winning the league.

In terms of players that are playing in the Premier League, a player that brought his career to the whole new level was Victor Moses. After 3 unsuccessful loan in the past three season, he literally did perform very well and managed to fit into Conte’s 3-4-3 formation. In my opinion, Victor Moses literally redefined his career this season and hopefully that he constantly improve himself in the upcoming season onward. As for the top scorer, it wasn’t a surprised to see Harry Kane had become the top scorer again with 29 goals in 30 matches with Tottenham Hotspur.

Last but not least, I would like to list down my Premier League Team of the Year. The position that I would be using for this will be the tradition 4-4-2 formation. I would choose David de Gea as goalkepper. While as for the defends, the back four would be David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose whereas for the midfield Delle Ali, Eden Hazard, Victor Moses and Saido Mane has chosen into my team. Lastly, the front two would be obvious as Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku would be chosen to lead the attacking of this team.

That is all I have to review about this season’s Premier league in general. Overall, I have to say that I do really enjoy watching and was anxiously watching the matches as this season was competitive as the club has risen up the competition this season in general. Hopefully that next season would be as competitive or even more competitive so that more and more people would watch Premier League matches.
