2016/17 La Liga season was a relatively stressful for both Real Madrid and Barcelona as both teams are head-to-head to determined either one of the team would win the league this season. It was a tought competition between both team however Real Madrid somehow managed to capture the league title on the last day of the season as they won 2-0 over Malaga. Therefore this would be La Liga’s season review from me.
After 5 years since the last time Real Madrid had won the league title with a fashion way as mention earlier they managed to lift the title on the last day of the season. Honestly speaking, after a slow start early of the season, there was an obvious winner as Real Madrid was leader of the league since match game 9 and it lasted till the last day. Even though there was wide gap in terms of points, Barcelona managed to catch up points to keep the pressure on Real Madrid.
It wasn’t a surprised to see Lionel Messi on becoming the overall league top scorer by bagging 37 goals in 34 league matches whereas his main rival Cristiano Ronaldo had only managed to scored 25 goals in 29 matches. With the goal scored by Cristiano Ronaldo, it was a bit of a shocked honestly because that Ronaldo has been scoring easily 30 goals or more over the six or seven season and according to his statistic, this season was the lowest goal scored that Ronaldo had with Real Madrid.
Personally, one of the shocking moment this league season was when Tony Adams was named Granada’s manager towards the end of the season. With lack of managerial knowledge and also having bad managerial statistic, it was the reason I was a bit shocking as I felt Adams wasn’t the right man to help Granada to escape relegated to Segunda Division. Being said that Tony Adams is still Granada’s manager, hopefully he may improve his managerial record with the team and ensuring that Granada could earn a promotion to La Liga after next season.
Before ending this review, I would like to pick La Liga Team of the Year is a must for me when doing a football season review. The formation that I will be for the team will be 4-3-3. Following would be the my La Liga Team of the Year:

CB: Sergio Ramos – Real Madrid (Spain) – Spain

ST: Lionel Messi – FC Barcelona (Spain) – Argentina
ST: Luis Suarez – FC Barcelona (Spain) – Uruguay
ST: Cristiano Ronaldo – Real Madrid (Spain) – Portugal
That is all I can review about this 2016/17 La Liga in general. Overall I have to say that this season was a good season for Zinedine Zidane as he managed to help Real Madrid by winning their first La Liga in 5 years. Hopefully that La Liga could be as a challanging as this season but also hopefully that there are couple of good news that makes me want to watch La Liga next season.
